Mable’s Ark Non-Medical Assisted Living Facility follows all CDC and local Department of Health Guidelines for Maryland to facilitate safe visits for families, residents, and associates.
We ask that all visitors adhere to the guidelines posted within the facility and on this website during visits:
· Check-in with reception staff
· A pre-screening temperature check is required for all
· Avoid touching the face, eyes, nose, and mouth
· Sanitize hands upon entering the facility
· Wear masks only in the presence of other residents and staff
Our facility permits residents to receive visitors subject to the resident’s wishes and the protection of the rights and safety of other residents.
1. Infection Control and Education for Visitors
All visitors must receive education on infection control practices before entering the facility.
Visitors must practice proper hand hygiene by washing hands with soap and water or using hand sanitizer upon entering and leaving the facility.
Visitors exhibiting signs of illness, including fever, cough, or respiratory symptoms, should postpone their visit until they are symptom-free.
2. Screening, Personal, Protective Equipment, and Other Infectious Protocols for Visitors:
All visitors are subject to a screening process, including temperature checks and completion of a health questionnaire.
Visitors may be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), such as face masks, gloves, or gowns, based on the facility's current infection control guidelines.
Visitors must follow all infectious protocols implemented by the facility, including but not limited to physical distancing requirements and designated visitation areas.
3. Lengths of Visits:
The duration of visits will be determined based on the facility’s visitation schedule and availability. Usually, the visiting hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The community reserves the right to limit the length of visits to ensure equitable access for all residents and their visitors.
Space is available in the lobby/lounge so residents can receive guests in reasonable comfort and privacy.
4. Number of Visitors Allowed:
Based on the available space and current infection control guidelines, the facility will determine the maximum number of visitors allowed per resident at any given time. Visitors must adhere to the specified visitor limit and should be, at most, the maximum number of visitors permitted.
The facility reserves the right to change the location of a visit if it infringes upon the rights of the resident’s roommate or other residents in the community. The resident has the right to deny visitation at any time. If a resident chooses to withdraw consent for visitation by a particular individual, the name of that person and the date of withdrawn consent shall be documented in the resident's medical record.
5. Designation of Persons Responsible for Staff Adherence to Visitation Policy and Procedures:
The community shall designate specific individuals, such as the assisted living manager or designed staff members, who will ensure staff adherence to the visitation policy and procedures.
These designated individuals will handle any concerns or issues related to the visitation policy and ensure its effective implementation.
6. Visitors Cannot be Compelled to Show or Provide Proof of Vaccine or Immunization Status:
The community acknowledges that visitors cannot be compelled to show or provide proof of vaccination or immunization status as a condition for visitation.
7. Consensual Physical Contact allowed Between a Resident and a Visitor:
Consensual physical contact, such as hugging or holding hands, is allowed between a resident and a visitor, provided it aligns with the resident’s preferences and does not pose a risk to the health and safety of either party. However, visitors must follow all infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene before and after physical contact.
Note: This visitation policy is subject to change based on the facility’s assessment of current infection control guidelines and overall safety and well-being
